The excitement reved up as the Spike TV Video Game Awards official list of nominees were announced on Novermber 17, 2010. The
8th edition of the Video Game Awards followed, and aired live on Spike TV on Saturday evening, December 11, 2010, from the Los
Angeles Convention Center featuring a bevy of stars from the world of video games, Hollywood and pop music. Hosting this year
was Neil Patrick Harris from “How I Met Your Mother” with a musical performance by “My Chemical Romance“. Leading the way
with ten nominations was BioWare’s “Mass Effect 2,” including nods for Game of the Year, Best Xbox 360 Game, Best PC Game
and Best RPG. Rockstar Games’ Wild West action-adventure title “Red Dead Redemption” racked up nine nominations, including
Game of the Year, Best Action Adventure Game, Best Graphics and Best Original Score.
