Sweet (originalmente The Sweet) foi uma banda de rock britânica formada no fim da década de 60, que atingiu o sucesso como um dos principais grupos de glam rock na década de 70.
A Sua formação clássica era constituida por Brian Connolly, Steve Priest, Andy Scott, and Mick Tucker.
Durante os primeiros anos da década o estilo da banda seguiu uma evolução acentuada, desde o estilo bubblegum do seu primeiro sucesso, "Funny Funny", para um rock pesado mais semelhante aos Who, com o uso marcante de backing vocals agudos.
A banda obteve grande sucesso nas tabelas britânicas, com treze canções a atingirem o Top 20 durante a década.
A formação dos Sweet passou por algumas mudanças, e durante diferentes períodos Scott, Connolly e Priest formaram também o seu próprio "Sweet", resultando nas bandas separadas Steve Priest's Sweet, Andy Scott's Sweet e Brian Connolly's New Sweet.
Connolly morreu em 1997, e Tucker em 2002.
Duas dessas bandas ainda existem: a versão americana dos Sweet, fundada pelo baixista original Steve Priest, e a versão britânica dos Sweet, liderada por Andy Scott.
