The Top Gear team are at it again in a new DVD comprising of another 11 fuel-injected challenges. This time the boys
take to the road and the ice to embark on more foolhardy ventures to out-do each other.
The Top Gear Race to the North pits a car, a bike and a locomotive in an epic journey from London to Edinburgh.
After choosing their form of transportation out of a hat, car enthusiast Jeremy Clarkson runs
the race on board railway locomotive 60163 Tornado
- a brand new mainline steam engine completed in Britain in 2008 - leaving motorbike fan
Richard Hammond to ride up on a Vincent Black Shadow and Jaguar fan James May makes the trip in an XK120.
Ever mindful of the environment, the presenters are challenged to create their
own eco-car to rival the G-Wiz, using a milk float,
some cutters and an old TVR. The first car, nicknamed " Geoff", is put through its
paces in the city of Oxford, before being re-built as Hammerhead
-i Eagle Thrust and undergoing a number of safety tests at the Motor Industry
Research Association before finally being reviewed by Autocar magazine.
