Titanoboa: Monster Snake tells the story of a group of intrepid scientists who unearth a priceless paleontological treasure
trove deep in the Cerrejon Mine, Colombia. Together with their research teams, Jon Bloch and Carlos Jaramillo found a host
of giant fossilized leaves and super-sized amphibians that shed light on a prehistoric black hole, just after the death of the
dinosaurs. These fossilized remains reveal that the earth endured a period of ferocious global warming leading to a whole
new ecosystem – the birth of the rain forest – in which huge creatures battled it out to become the planet's top predators.
Dominating this battle was the Titanoboa, the undisputed biggest snake of all time. Jon Bloch joins forces with world expert
in ancient snakes, Jason Head, to unlock the lost land of the Titanoboa; they explore how this monster snake would've lived
by visiting its extant cousins including a foray into the Florida Everglades and the Venezuelan Grasslands to meet boa
constrictors and anacondas. Their research yields some intriguing and frankly terrifying insights including the mating and
predation behavior of the giant snake. All of these clues come together to paint a picture of the Titanoboa's world, which
is fully realized in stunning photo-real CGI. Here we see the colossal 50 foot Titanoboa live its life as an ancient apex
predator among a land of tropical mega-beasts.
